What is Gundam Another Series? Which one should I watch first?


In the previous issue, I explained the U.C. series. 

This time, we will briefly describe the Another Series.



Another Series

A world line different from the Universal Century, and each series has a different detailed setting.

Each series is an independent series, so you can start watching without prior knowledge.

It is a work that is OK just as long as mobile suits with the name “Gundam” appear.


【Mobile Suit Gundam Wing】

It won't happen! A Gundam that should never be laughed at. The heroine strangles two lions.

The heroine is threatened with murder in the first episode, and the hero fakes data in order to overdraw the entrance fee in the second episode. A lost work.


【Mobile Suit Gundam SEED / DESTINY / FREEDOM】

A controversial work that aims to pay homage to the first series.

No mark: controversy → DESTINY: firestorm → FREEDOM: great acclaim. Evaluation turned around. Reevaluation of past works.


【Mobile Suit Gundam 00】★Let's start with this one!

The war is eradicated by Gundam! This is a magnificent blockbuster that begins with the declaration of war, “We will eradicate war with Gundam!

The theme of dialogue and mutual understanding is sublimated beautifully. The main character is a Gundam sommelier.


【Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans】

Tekkadan is a group of boy soldiers who only know the battlefield. The story of Martian orphans struggling for freedom.

A lot of death. A lot of tears.


【Mobile Suit Gundam THE WITCH FROM MERCURY】

Love and battle! Gundam of 2024. It's an easy to catch on to because it's a school story.

The story is relatively small-scale, depicting a struggle between companies rather than a space war.


【Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuX】

The screenplay is written by Hideaki Anno. An IF world line of the Universal Century that begins with a new version of the First Gundam.

For the above reasons, I strongly recommend completing the U.C. series when watching the movie version and the two episodes of the TV version.

On the other hand, I would also like to hear your impression of the regular history by watching this one first.

Except for the beginning, the other episodes can be viewed independently as so-called “another” episodes, so you may start watching it normally. 



Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuX is a hot topic!

Both adults who watched First Gundam back in the day and children who are starting to watch Gundam for the first time will enjoy this work.
